COLUMBUS, Ohio — Buckeye greats Anthony Schlegel and Bobby Carpenter will introduce “The Difference,” a portable hand placement/striking device for all ages, at the DSW Fan Fest on Saturday, Oct. 17, from 4:00-8:00 p.m. prior to the OSU vs. Penn State game. Fans can try out the newest apparatus to develop powerful hand placement/striking techniques and even enter for a chance to win their own unit!
Schlegel and Carpenter, former Buckeyes who earned MBAs from the Fisher College of Business, started The Difference USA in 2015. “The Difference,” a device developed by Schlegel, a former professional football player and nationally renowned strength coach (most recently with The Ohio State University), was developed in the weight room of The Ohio State University football program to develop consistent and powerful hand placement/striking techniques for all positions of the National Champion Buckeyes.
“When looking at today’s football players, regardless of age, weight or type of football program, consistent and powerful hand placement/striking techniques are key to maximizing the athlete’s potential. However, there is no specific athletic training equipment that is not only specialized, but also cost-effective, allowing athletes to hone this necessary skill. The Difference is applicable to ALL positions,” Schlegel said.
“The Difference” has three different spring tensions, a digital striking force readout and can be used both indoors and outdoors. It comes with a training guide produced by NFL professionals and makes a great tailgate or man-cave addition.
“The Difference” weighs ten times less than the average football sled, is fully portable and affordable. It is able to adapt to a number of round or square devices and can be set up by one person in a matter of minutes.
The DSW Fan Fest takes place at the north end of the stadium where you will have an opportunity to meet Schlegel and Carpenter, get autographs and hit The Difference. Fans who sign up as a reward member with DSW will have the opportunity to register for a chance to play flag football in The Shoe with Schlegel and Carpenter.
